Welcome to Danvers.
We are a community with a rich rural history and long standingtraditions. We also have an eye to the future and work to sustain and grow our community. Danvers is comprised of families rooted in local agriculture, those that work in the Bloomington/Normal or Peoria areas and long standing residents that are now retired. Being just 20 minutes to Bloomington/Normal and 30 minutes to Peoria provides opportunities for work, leisure and entertainment with the secure feeling of small town living.
Danvers has a professional police department, dedicated fire protection, safe drinking water and a great school district with an elementary school located in the village. Homes are fairly priced and values are constantly strong. Our streets and other infrastructure is well maintained and the village is fiscally strong. We deliver value for the revenue collected and balance well our environmental footprint and the needs of our residents.
We support the 118 year old Danvers Municipal Band whichperforms every Sunday evening in July along with an ice cream social. During the third weekend in August we celebrate Danvers Day, a festival now beyond its 30th year. Several other events are hosted throughout the year by Lions Club, local churches and businesses.
We have large parks that offer playgrounds and a lighted baseball field. We continue to partner with residents and community organizations to build an expanding arboretum for the enjoyment of our current and future residents.
Please come enjoy a piece of homemade pie and listen to our band or attend any one of our other events. Take a drive though our residential neighborhoods or stop in the local pub for a sandwich and hospitality and see what Danvers has to offer you.
We hope to see you soon!
